NeRF and Model Based Face Analysis in the Wild
This research investigates state-of-the-art rendering pipelines with 3D face/head models in fields where virtual avatars are becoming increasingly popular, such as digital entertainment, gaming and interactive media. The project addresses the limitations of current 3D facial reconstruction and rendering techniques, and aims to deliver cost, energy and environmental savings in virtual production and 3D scanning technologies.
CfACTs is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) COFUND research centre, co-led by Prof Jian Chang and Prof Jian J Zhang, of the Bournemouth University’s National Centre for Computer Animation (BU NCCA); CfACTs runs from October 2020 to September 2025.
